Skoda Octavia
A model produced by the Czech manufacturer Skoda Auto since 1996, the Skoda Octavia is considered a small family car.
It comes in two variants:
- five door liftback
- five door estate (station wagon)
Some mistake the model for a saloon due to its long booth.
Skoda Octavia second generation (currently in production)
The second generation of the Skoda Octavia started production in 2004 and it’s based on the VW A platform, also used on cars like VW Golf V, Audi A3, Seat Leon II, VW Touran and VW Golf Plus.
Some of the improvements brought by Skoda Octavia II, from the first generation:
- new engines
- more legroom for the passengers in the rear
- increased ground clearance, both in the rear and the front
Skoda Octavia Scout
The Skoda Octavia Scout is a 4×4 model, based on the estate version.
It was announced originally in 2006 and it offers a ground clearance higher by 40mm than the normal versions.

Skoda Octavia I (first generation - still in production)
The Skoda Octavia I production started in 1996, and was built on the VW A4 platform. It was hugely popular due to its solidity, durability and refinement, all for a price that was competitive with its rivals (Ford Mondeo, Opel Vectra, Peugeot 406).
In 2000, the Octavia I received a facelift, and 4 years later the second generation was launched. It’s still being produced and sold in many countries from Europe and Asia as Octavia Tour.
